When I first took a peek at the Aly Sibley Photography website, ahead of our discovery call, two things stood out to me right away: Aly’s INCREDIBLE curly hair and her even more incredible photography style.
While Aly loved her website’s overall design, she reached out to me because she felt something was missing in how her content spoke to potential clients, ranked on search engines, and guided people through her services with clarity.
Aly had a clear understanding of where her website was falling short. Honestly, I was so impressed with her awareness and care around the ‘Aly Sibley Photography’ client experience.
I wanted to help her accomplish her goals by showcasing not only her beautiful galleries but also her unique messaging and how her service differs from other photographers in the area.
Our main priorities for this project included:
As I began reviewing Aly’s existing website, researching competitors, and interviewing her about her business, it became clear that separating her services into distinct pages would definitely improve the user experience on her site.
We restructured the site to feature dedicated pages for:
This strategic shift allowed us to speak directly to each client type, addressing their specific concerns, expectations, and questions about working with Aly.
The heading text throughout the site was refreshed to be more engaging and action-oriented, guiding visitors naturally through each page of the website.
We also added some additional information that was missing from specific pages. For example, we added a section on the Aly Sibley Photography homepage to share more about Aly’s unique approach and methods for helping clients feel comfortable during their photography sessions.
Something we considered carefully as we made copy changes was how visitors would move through the website. We created clear pathways for each type of client, ensuring they could quickly find relevant information and take the next step quickly and easily.
Each service page was structured to tell a complete story — from introducing the service and showcasing sample galleries to explaining the process and answering common questions.
I had noticed that Aly’s original website didn’t have very many calls to action, so we added several throughout each page to make it easier for people to book when they’re ready.
The FAQ sections we added to each service page proved particularly valuable, addressing concerns before they became obstacles to booking. This approach not only improved clarity but also boosted SEO by incorporating natural keyword phrases clients might search for.
Aly had done some foundational work on her SEO when she first launched her original website, but she knew she wanted to maximize her key phrases, page load time, and content strategy to improve her search engine rankings.
We reviewed competitor websites, researched key phrases, reviewed her current content, and then incorporated all of that work into the refreshed website copy and user experience work.
When I help clients with SEO, I use my handy SEO spreadsheet that helps us track things like targeted keywords, meta descriptions, page titles, page structure, and more. I used this resource for the Aly SIbley Photography website so Aly can make updates and track any new pages she creates in the future.
You know how I LOVE clarity across design, messaging, and marketing. So, for me, one of my favorite parts of this website refresh was seeing how the dedicated service pages and clear navigational menu transformed the user experience.
What was once a beautiful but somewhat confusing website became a clear, guided site for potential clients to explore and connect with easily. Each photography specialty now has room to shine on its own, with targeted messaging that speaks directly to the clients seeking those specific services.
The revised website now reflects Aly’s personality while clearly communicating her service offerings. Navigation has improved, SEO is strong, and the feedback has been wonderful.
In Aly’s own words:
I have endless amazing things to say about working with Belle! 5 stars is not enough! She was so open to customizing her service offer to exactly what I needed.
I liked my current website design, but wanted an expert’s help with building more clarity into my copy, and making my website more SEO friendly. She asked so many thoughtful questions and genuinely cared about providing the best service possible. I have been raving to all my creative friends about her.
If you’re on the fence, please take this as a sign to meet with her. She is SO talented, so warm and friendly, and so quick in her work!! Thank you, Belle – you’re the best!”
This collaboration with Aly Sibley Photography really showed how dramatic a change can be made through a website refresh. Focusing on strategic copywriting, user experience, and SEO can dramatically improve a website’s effectiveness without requiring a complete redesign.
By focusing on clarity, structure, and authentic voice, we transformed an already beautiful site into a powerful marketing tool that better serves both Aly and her potential clients.
