When I first fell in love with the ShowIt website platform, I was listening to a podcast. 

Which definitely isn’t surprising. I’m almost always listening to a podcast.

And to be honest, I was ready for a new website tool after working with WordPress and Squarespace for several years. 

I struggled with both tools in different ways, so when I heard of this mysterious ‘ShowIt’ platform I stopped the episode, went to Google, and started diving in.

The ShowIt Website Platform Basics

Let’s start with the website basics (feel free to keep scrolling if you’re already familiar) to understand how ShowIt helps your business.

Websites need 4 things (I’m simplifying here) to work:

• A design tool (where you design the site)
• A website host (where your site lives)
• A domain name (mine is bellewhitecreative.com)
• A domain host (like GoDaddy, where your domain name lives)

ShowIt is a website design tool and website hosting service (2/4 of the list above) that you point your domain to (using a tool like GoDaddy) to have a live website ready to work for your business!

Another benefit (a pretty major one) is that ShowIt is a no-code-needed design tool. Meaning, you don’t need to have ANY coding skills to design your website. 

You do need design skills or a template, but there are no coding skills required.

This makes ShowIt a really appealing website platform for many businesses! The ease of making edits, the awesome support team…. It offers a lot.

Why I Personally Love ShowIt (The Benefits)

Remember I said I had used Squarespace and WordPress and was looking for a tool with different capabilities?

Here are some of the things that made me FALL in love with the ShowIt website platform, and why I use it for my client websites (as well as my own)

Real Support From Real People 

The toughest part about WordPress websites (IMO) is that there are no real people to talk to if you have questions or challenges, just online forums and online tutorials.

But with ShowIt, they have a dedicated customer support team with real people there to reply to your questions Monday – Friday. It’s the best customer support I’ve come across in my website experience, PLUS they have incredible tutorials and resources as well!

WordPress SEO Capabilities

Because ShowIt still uses WordPress for their blogs, you get to harness the power of the Yoast plugin (a really powerful SEO plugin) so your website can still focus on SEO and being Google-friendly without being annoying-ly hard to use.

Unlimited Design Creativity

I love tools that keep things simple but don’t limit creativity. 

I personally never loved how Squarespace either required you to know how to code (to fully customize your design) or to have more limited design options (designing within their designated grid).

So for me, ShowIt was the winner and is now the tool I use for my clients, my own website, and the tool I most often recommend!

Not-Right For You If…

Despite my love of the tool, the ShowIt website platform is definitely not for every business or website! 

ShowIt may not be right for your business if:

1) Your business has a lot of complex processes or integrations

If you have a business with a LOT of integrations or complex processes then likely you will want to invest in a custom-coded website. 

That way, you can have everything created exactly how you want without having to adjust anything to fit with your website platform.

2) You need a website with micro websites or complex page structure

If you’re a brand that needs lots of different page structures (landing pages for 100s of locations) or micro websites (like for franchise brands) then you will likely need a different platform.

3) You’re an e-commerce company

ShowIt is not the best option for e-commerce companies because they offer limited integrations for online stores! Instead, I’d recommend looking into Shopify or another specialized platform like that!

Right For You If…

The ShowIt website platform is right for your business if:

• You are any other business besides the ones described above

I’m only kinda kidding. 

Whether you’re a business coach, coffee shop, software company, graphic designer, or you own a pegasus farm (my little sister came up with that job when we were little and it just stuck with me).

The ShowIt website platform is truly my favorite for most businesses. Especially for businesses looking for a website that is:

• Professional and beautiful
• Easy to update when needed
• SEO-optimized
• Works for your business (you know, makes you money)
